Several women have come forward and conveyed to the Human Rights Forum (HRF) serious allegations regarding Pavan Korada, who has been associated with our organisation for a few years, without ever being a formal member. At least eight women have shared their experiences directly, spanning 2018 to the present.
The actual number of those affected is likely higher. HRF has carefully reviewed a collective statement issued by the survivors. The statement describes a sustained and disturbing pattern of sexual coercion and abuse, physical intimidation, emotional manipulation, serial dishonesty, financial exploitation and deliberate retaliation and intimidation against women who sought accountability, including through threats of legal action.
The statement further details inconsistent claims about his caste identity across contexts, with caste repeatedly instrumentalised systematically to manipulate women; the fabrication of sexual interest from women; predatory behaviour exploiting age and professional power differentials; and the distortion of facts in personal and professional domains, such as false claims concerning State action against him in order to inflate his standing in political spaces.
HRF understands that Pavan Korada’s recent employment was terminated following a formal complaint by the survivors arising from these allegations. It has also come to our attention that Pavan Korada has invoked his past proximity to the Human Rights Forum to claim credibility. We categorically state that any such association has ceased with immediate effect and he has no connection, formal or informal, with the HRF.
We recognise the courage of the survivors, particularly given the professional and personal risks. HRF remains committed to ensuring that dignity and accountability are not merely stated values, but practised ones.
