HRF Urges West Godavari SP to Strengthen POCSO Enforcement

Date: 04-06-2026,

To,
Mr. Sri Adnan Nayeem Asmi,
SP of West Godavari District.

Sub: Seeking your intervention in enforcing POCSO Act and Rules

The Human Rights Forum (HRF) is a citizens’ forum established with the objective of working for the protection of Constitutionally guaranteed/internationally recognized rights of the people.

We have closely followed few POCSO cases in our district. We would like to bring to your notice the lapses by the investigating officers which later impair the case during the trial in the courts.

  • Delayed arrests.
  • Taking the accused into custody without showing on record and then later showing the arrest officially as per their convenience.
  • Not providing the copies of FIR to the complainant.
  • Not informing the complainant about the bail petitions and hearing dates. This deprives the complainants their legal right to express their opposition to bail in the Court.
  • Not providing the bail petition copies and subsequently chargesheet copies.
  • Being negligent in collecting medical and material evidence.
  • Not informing the Woman and Child Development about Victim Compensation.

We particularly bring to your notice about the recent cases Cr.No. 42/2026, Cr. 43/2026 of Mogalturu PS, Cr.No. 33/2026 of Achanta PS and Cr.No. 77/2026 of Palakoderu PS.

We urge you to look into these issues and direct the investigating officers to comply with the provisions and rules of POCSO Act.

Regards

Y. Rajesh, AP State General Secretary
P. Pavan kumar, East Godavari EC member
