Sub: EIA report of YTPS – Not of readable quality
Sir,
We would like to participate in the public hearing scheduled on 20 February 2024 for the YTPS (Yadadri Thermal Power Station) project, located at Veerlapalem, Damaracharla mandal, Nalgonda district.
In this regard, the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) report uploaded in the Telangana State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) website is digitally poor in quality and it is not at all in readable format. We wonder how the TSPCB accepted such a poor digital quality report and uploaded it on its unmindful of the reader’s comfort. The company that sank ₹ 55000 crore for an unfinished project could not even produce a proper EIA report. This is a pointer to its contemptuous attitude towards people and the environment.
We demand that a proper digital copy be uploaded immediately, as we have already lost a week, for preparing our comments for the Environmental Public Hearing (EPH). It is the minimum responsibility of the TSPCB to facilitate public participation in the EPH by providing the required information in a proper format.
Sincerely
